“EL BAILE DE LOS VENCEJOS”
Many people ask me what kind of music they can find in EL BAILE DE LOS VENCEJOS and I see disappointment in their faces when I answer: “ I have no idea!” This is not satisfactory. I wonder why… Shouldn’t we look for new experiences?.At least, the music lovers… Maybe we are too few, I don’t know…
Anyway, I felt that I had something to say in music when I found myself composing something different from the composers I loved but that, at the same time, summarizes the music that I heard all through my life, something that gives me my image back like a mirror.
The track “El Baile De Los Vencejos” led the way, that’s why it entitles the album. It’s inspired in the flight of the swifts over the roof of my house. Romantic, descriptive, the score of a non-existing movie… pop, symphonic, minimalistic… too many labels… At least, a certain aesthetic criteria will prevail together with the search for the music that I would like to hear: exciting, unpredictable, ironic (“Dalle”), committed (“A las puertas del mar”), evocative…
The last goal was, no doubt, the sensorial pleasure. I’m not sure I got it right, but I can honestly say that I’ve tried my best.
